I am Melissa, I became a doula because everything about it strikes a chord that I’m passionate about. I love educating families on everything from pregnancy, birth, and infant care. I could go on and on about it. 
Part of what I love about birth is that when I became pregnant myself I studied very deeply into everything I could get my hands on relating to the topic of birth. I soon discovered that birth can actually be an enjoyable experience, one of the best times of your life. It does not need to be the nightmare that so many have grown up believing is inevitable when it comes to delivering a baby. I made sure to put what I had learned into play when I gave birth and did have an amazing birth, I worked with my body, and it was one of the best days of my life. I hope to spread the knowledge and give women the amazing and positive birth experience they deserve. 
I have 2 bachelor’s degrees, one in psychology and another in sociology. I am also Reiki 1 certified. I have dedicated my life to healing and listening to people. Due to my background, I am an excellent communicator, listener, peace keeper, and problem solver. I am able to remain focused on the task at hand and remember the small details.
I live with my husband whom manages a comedy club, our 1-year old daughter, and our cat.
I was born and raised in Las Vegas  I have been here for 30 years. I have 4 generations of family living in Vegas, so my roots go pretty deep.
I am always with my toddler and husband, we love being outside in nature. We go mountain climbing, trail hiking, travel the world and sky dive. We love adrenaline sports like white water rafting and glacier hiking. Anything that gets us outside. So far, I’ve traveled to 15 different countries and plan on traveling much more in the future. Traveling is my other passion, and international travel is my favorite. I’ve hiked the Inca trail to Machu Picchu, climbed Mount Masada in Israel, ridden a gondola through Venice, and bungee jumped off the bridge in New Zealand. Maybe one day I’ll be able to be a doula internationally, that would be a dream come true.
